The swimming competition at Gay Games 10 will be held in the city’s most beautiful pool, the Georges Vallerey pool. It is organized by PARIS AQUATIQUE with the support of the French Swimming Federation (FFN), the Paris Region Swimming Committee (CIF), and the Paris Swimming Committee (CD75).

Over 1000 swimmers are registered for the swimming competition, with 5 year age ranges for the 51 events.

Rules

FINA rules will be used with recommendations of International Gay and Lesbian Aquatics (IGLA).

The swimming event is sanctionned by the French Swimming Federation Master rules”.

Swimmers may collect and show their official times in order to forward them to their local national swimming federation belonging to FINA in order register them in their countries

It is important to notice that Paris 2018 will not transfer your times/records to your swimming federation, the FFN results to this competition will be enough to show evidence to your federation.

For your information, in France:

  • The hats are obligatory
  • Nudity is forbidden, even under showers.

    Founded in 1990, PARIS AQUATIQUE is a masters swimming club.

    PARIS AQUATIQUE is a member of the French Aquatics Sports Federation (FFN). With more than 400 members, it is one of the largest Masters Swimming Clubs in the world. One of our founding principles is to fight against discrimination in any form, be it  sexual orientation, gender, ethnic origin, physical disabilities, political affiliation or religious beliefs.

    PARIS AQUATIQUE offers training for adults over 18 in swimming, synchronized swimming, diving, open water swimming and water polo. We also propose a high standard of quality swimming training for triathlon competitors in cooperation with 3 other Parisian LGBT clubs: the Dérailleurs for cycling and the Paris Front Runners and the Athletic Coeur de Fond for running.

    PARIS AQUATIQUE has previously hosted the IGLA 2000 and 2007 Championships with nearly 900 participants in each edition, the 2014 French Masters Swimming Championships with nearly 2.400 swimmers, the 2015 and 2016 French Masters Diving Championships, the 2016 French Masters Synchronized Swimming Championships and every year since 2004, the International Tournament of Paris.
