The tournament consists of two sessions:
- Preliminary rounds organized as a pool system
- Finals organized as double elimination rounds
- Each game must be a minimum of 7 innings or 1 hour 10 minute time limit

- 60% Men, 40% Women
- 60% North America, 40% remaining countries
