The Gay Games are committed to promoting inclusion and respect for diversity
From August 4 to 8, 2018, Paris will host the 1Oth edition of the Gay Games, the largest sporting, cultural and festive event in the world open to all!
Organized every four years for the past 30 years, the Gay Games are a true hymn to love, promoting a society that is open to all forms of diversity.
Paris is the ideal host to celebrate this 10th edition, where 15,000 athletes from over 70 countries are expected to take part! With the support of all major sporting and government bodies, Paris 2018 is preparing Games that will celebrate diversity, respect, equality, solidarity and sharing.
Over the course of 10 days, Paris 2018 will honor the cosmopolitan metropolis, the Ile-de-France region (Paris and its surrounding area) as well as the whole country, offering both participants and visitors from around the world a unique opportunity to enjoy outstanding infrastructure, such as the Jean Bouin and Charléty stadiums, the Bercy Arena, the Roland Garros tennis center, the Carreau du Temple multipurpose venue, the new Philarmonie concert hall, or the Vaires-sur-Marne sports park, which serves as a true hub for excellence in sports in the Ile-de-France region.
With an eye to the world and the future, Paris and the Ile-de-France region wish to make the next Gay Games easily accessible to as many people as possible, in keeping with the tradition of its founder, Tom Waddell, who dreamed of a world where the word ‘equality’ would take on its full meaning, a world in which exclusion based on difference would no longer exist.
We invite you to be part of this ideal!
