The Cycling Road Races of PARIS 2018 Gay Games 10 have been organized by the Sports Federation UFOLEP with the support of Les Dérailleurs 

Approximately 150 cyclers are registered for this adult competition organized according to age groups.

Rules

The applicable rules are those of the International Cyclist Union (UCI).

Registration for the cycling events does not include provision of a bike. You can rent a bike with : cycleslaurent.com, parisbikeco.com or allovelo.com.

The bike repair company “Repairandrun” (www.repairandrun.com) who will be present during the MTB event offers 10% discount to race participants to have their bike revised “at home” in Paris or near Suburbs. To contact them: contact@repairandrun.com

Program

Briefing : Monday 6 August 15h00 to 17h00 in Stade Charléty

A briefing will be held. Teams for the Team Time Trial will be formed on this occasion.

COMPETITION – The following events will be organized:

Criterium Race: Wednesday August 8th

  • 9:00 : opening of the welcome desk for the participants
  • 9:00 : 9:30 : warm up on the circuit
  • 10:00 : departure of licensed men
  • 11:30 : departure of unlicensed men
  • 13h00 : departure of unlicensed women
  • 14:30 : medals

Course, timed, ranking by gender, division, and age category. Held on a 1 200m course entirely closed to traffic.

  • Men 18-44
    • 20 loops (30km)
  • Men 45+
    • 19 loops (28,8km)
  • Women 18-44
    • 15 loops (18 km)
  • Women 45+
    • 13 loops (15,6km)

Individual Time Trial: Thursday August 9th morning

  • 8:30 : opening of the welcome desk for the participants
  • 8:30 : 9:00 : warm up on the circuit
  • 9:30 : first departures and then a departure every two minutes
  • 13:30 : medals

Race will be timed, with individual departures each two minutes (licensed men, licensed women, unlicensed men, unlicensed women), individual ranking by gender, division, and age category. Held on a 3,1KM course entirely closed to traffic. Each participant will have to bike for four loops (12,4KM).

TeamTime Trial: Thursday August 9th afternoon (12,4km)

  • 14:30 : first departures and then a departure every three minutes
  • 17:00 : medals

Teams can be made up in the following way :

Men’s licensed, Women’s licensed, Men’s unlicensed, Women’s unlicensed. The teams will be men, women and mixed. The mixed teams must also be made up of Licensed OR unlicensed. There will be enough time for cyclists to do both the male or female AND then be part of a mixed team. Mountain bikes will be allowed but any team with these will have to be mountain bikes only. Age groupings will not apply. Teams to be made up to a maximum of 4 cyclists.   Finishing time will be taken from the third wheel. There will be a maximum of 24 teams spread across all groupings. You will have time to create and register your teams at the pre race briefing.

Road Race: Friday August 10th

Course, timed, ranking by gender, division, and age category.

  • 11:30 : departure of unlicensed men
  • 13:00 : departure of licensed men over 50 years
  • 14:30 : departure of licensed and unlicensed women
  • 15:30 : departure of licensed women over 50 years
  • 17:00 : medals

Held on a 3,1KM course entirely closed to traffic.

  • Men 18-34 35-39 40-44 45-49 50-54 55-59 60-70 70-80
    • Unlicensed : 11 loops (34.1km)
    • Unlicensed over 50 years : 10 loops (31km)
    • Licensed : 18 loops (55,5km)
  • Women 18-34 35-39 40-44 45-49 50-54 55-59 60-70
    • Unlicensed : 9 loops (27,9km)
    • Licenced over 50 years : 9 loops (27,9km)
    • Licensed : 11 loops (34,1km)

Teams for the Team Time Trial will be formed during the briefing, Monday 6 of August in Stade Charléty.

The PARIS 2018 organization committee reserves the right to modify the event planning if the number of registered participants warrants such.

    Founded in 1995, Les Dérailleurs is a cycling club .

    Dérailleurs was founded in 1995. It is a cycling club for LGBT cyclists and their friends. With sections in several regions of France (Paris, Nantes, Bordeaux, Toulouse, Lyons), Dérailleur is open to all cyclists of all levels of ability. Dérailleurs organises tours, mountain biking weekends and holidays, and road trips.

    Dérailleurs is a member of the FSGL (Fédération Sportive Gay et Lesbienne) and the FFCT (Fédération Française de Cyclotourisme).
