The Women’s and Men’s Squash Tournaments was organized at the Charlety Stadium by Les Petites Frappes with the support of the French Squash Federation.

Over 100 players were registered for these tournaments, which are open to everyone, regardless of ability!

The competition consisted of several tournaments organized according to level, beginners to experts.  The objective was a pleasant, enjoyable and balanced playing experience and then to step on the podium !!

The first three places of each category will receive gold, silver or bronze medal.

Spectators

If you want to encourage your squash-playing friends and see high quality matches, or discover a breath taking and spectacular sport, then come to the Charlety Stadium.

Spectators are highly encouraged to come and support the players.

The Rules of the Squash Competition is available HERE

 

Program

Each tournament includes Preliminary rounds (from Monday to Tuesday) and a Finals phase (Wednesday to Friday).

Preliminary rounds will be played in one day for each category:

  • Monday 6 August: categories A and C
  • Tuesday 7 August: categories B, D and E

For the Preliminary rounds, each participant will play 3 or 4 matches (depending on the number of registered participants by level), best out of 3 games (11 points with 2 points of difference).

For the Finals phase each participant will play 4 to 6 matches (depending on the number of registered participants by level), the best out of 5 games (11 points with 2 points of difference). All the classification matches will be played Friday.

  • Wednesday 8 August: categories A et C
  • Thursday 9 August: categories B, D et E
  • Friday 10 August: categories A, B, C, D, E

All players will have at least one day off during the week to rest, stroll around, or discover some of the other GAY GAMES 10 sports or culture events.

The organizing committee reserves the right to modify the program of the competition in case of extreme necessity.

Several tournaments are organized according to the level of the players:

  • A – International (Professional)
  • B – Expert player
  • C – Confirmed player
  • D – Recreational with tournament experience
  • E – Recreational without tournament experience

    Founded in 2002, Les Petites Frappes is a squash club.

    Les Petites Frappes Association was created August 3, 2002.  It was the first squash association in France  to open to everyone and is affiliated with the Gay and Lesbian Sportive Federation and the French Federation of Squash.

    After having spread the word and showed by example, other squash clubs and associations affiliated with FSGL and FFS became active in France (Cargo in Lyon, GAIS in Nice, Les Petites Frappes of Toulouse, etc).

    Les Petites Frappes welcomes each year more than 100 members of all levels and takes care of court reservations, organization of friendly activities and competitions.  Several of these members are classed at the national level and participate in Ile-de-France federation competitions.

    Les Petites Frappes are experts in the organization of tournaments with 2 internal tournaments (Fall and Winter), open to all, in addition the Paris International Tournament in the Spring.

    Opened to the world, the members participate in tournaments organized by other LGBT squash associations in Europe (Manchester, Londres, Dublin, Berlin, Cologne, Stuttgart, Amsterdam, Barcelone, Prague…).
