The triathlon competition during the 10th edition of the Gay Games was organized by Avena Event, with the support of a group of triathletes coming from différents clubs, Le Cercle du Marais, Les Dérailleurs, The Paris Front Runners, Paris Aquatique, and their friends. Nearly 300 people participated in triathlon at Gay Games 10.

The organizing commitee

Several clubs affiliated with the FSGL have created in 2013 an interclub to prepare and participate to triathlon events: Paris Aquatic and Le Cercle du Marais for swimming, Les dérailleurs for cycling, The Paris Front Runners and Athletic Coeur de fond for the running.

    The Cercle du Marais is a Swimming club .

    The Cercle du Marais, is a Swimming club based in St Merri’s pools (Paris 4th arr.) and Georges Vallerey pool (Paris 10th arr.).

    The club allows everyone to practice this sport at their own pace, regardless of age, physical condition, and skill level.

    They offer group classes in evenings for learning the crawl and preparing for competitions through water aerobics, swimming and senior aquatraining.

    In addition, since the beginning, the club has been given specific courses for sick people, in partnership with the association AIDES.

    The training is conducted in a relaxed atmosphere, by certified lifeguards, attentive to individual needs.

    Above all, they stand for the value of tolerance, which is why they are open to any and all gays, lesbians, heterosexuals, without discrimination.

    Founded in 1995, Les Dérailleurs is a cycling club .

    Dérailleurs was founded in 1995. It is a cycling club for LGBT cyclists and their friends. With sections in several regions of France (Paris, Nantes, Bordeaux, Toulouse, Lyons), Dérailleur is open to all cyclists of all levels of ability. Dérailleurs organises tours, mountain biking weekends and holidays, and road trips.

    Dérailleurs is a member of the FSGL (Fédération Sportive Gay et Lesbienne) and the FFCT (Fédération Française de Cyclotourisme).

    Founded in 1992, Paris Front Runners is a Track and Field and a Running club .

    Les Front Runners de Paris est une association de course à pied fondée en 1992, et composée aujourd’hui de plus de 330 membres. Le club est ouvert à tou-te-s, sans discriminations : quelle que soit l’orientation sexuelle, le genre, l’âge, le statut sérologique, le niveau en sport.

    Chaque année, les Front Runners de Paris organisent deux événements clés de la visibilité sportive LGBT : la Course de la Saint Valentin, ainsi que les épreuves d’athlétisme et les courses hors stade du Tournoi International de Paris.

    Founded in 1990, PARIS AQUATIQUE is a masters swimming club.

    PARIS AQUATIQUE is a member of the French Aquatics Sports Federation (FFN). With more than 400 members, it is one of the largest Masters Swimming Clubs in the world. One of our founding principles is to fight against discrimination in any form, be it  sexual orientation, gender, ethnic origin, physical disabilities, political affiliation or religious beliefs.

    PARIS AQUATIQUE offers training for adults over 18 in swimming, synchronized swimming, diving, open water swimming and water polo. We also propose a high standard of quality swimming training for triathlon competitors in cooperation with 3 other Parisian LGBT clubs: the Dérailleurs for cycling and the Paris Front Runners and the Athletic Coeur de Fond for running.

    PARIS AQUATIQUE has previously hosted the IGLA 2000 and 2007 Championships with nearly 900 participants in each edition, the 2014 French Masters Swimming Championships with nearly 2.400 swimmers, the 2015 and 2016 French Masters Diving Championships, the 2016 French Masters Synchronized Swimming Championships and every year since 2004, the International Tournament of Paris.
