The mixed (men and women) and women’s water polo tournaments for the 10th Gay Games will be held in the capital’s most beautiful swimming pool, Georges Vallerey for the “Competition Cup”, and Roger Le Gall for the “Recreational Trophy”. They are organized by Aquahomo, with the support of the French Swimming Federation (FFN), the Ile-de-France Regional Swimming Committee (CIF), and the Paris Swimming Committee (CD75).
The exclusively women’s tournament will only be held if at least 3 teams have registered for participation. Failing that, there will be an “Open” tournament with men’s, mixed, and women’s teams all competing together.
In the mixed tournament, over 600 players are expected to participate (in approximately 36 teams) will take part in either of the two following competitions, depending on their levels of performance: the “Competition Cup” or the “Recreational Trophy”.
Caution: as places are limited, only the first 36 teams to register will be automatically confirmed. Additional teams will be put on a waiting list. As of 14 July 2017, number of teams are sold out. Players can still register to join an existing team. Nevertheless, Paris 2018 is searching for a way to increase the number of teams and participants. We remind you a team can have 20 members.
Each team will get to play at least 5 matches.
Finals will be held during the famous Pink Flamingo!
If you don’t have a team in your own city or area, you may request more information from your national federation (FFN in France) or from IGLA, the LGBT International Federation, in order to find a club that is prepared to welcome you.
